blog 2 of RWR

In my book "R.W.R." the endeavor (the spaceship) was a product of a group of people forming the Rama Committee. The Rama committee landed on the meteorite and began exploring the hollow shell of Rama. They knew it was or is occupied by alien life by the way everything is laid out there are fields rivers huge city like structures which the endeavor crew nicknamed after large cities around the world like N.Y. , Rome, Old Manhattan, Tokyo ...etc. The narrator is convinced that there is no alien life on this planet/meteor because all of his tests came back sterile. (a little piece of information i learned from biology....cyanobacteria is a uni cellular organism that is the base of the food chain w/o bacteria there would be no us.) I like how the book uses science to make it more convincing.

The story by Arthur C. Clark was really interesting in the way it talked about the visit to another "star" it's a lot similar to what is going on in my book right now except they're visiting a meteorite. Nun the less, it was extremely biblical in that it posed the "Why?" question about God. The main character always asked why of all the stars it had to chose this one and cut it's life so quick. He was sad to see such a vibrant intelligent life be destroyed. What I don't understand is why he continued to talk to his "father" (father Loyola) and wish that he didn't burden him with this information? Why is he so distressed about the dead star and what is significant about it being the star of Bethlehem? Are these both related?

beggining

My book "Randezvous with Rama" is scientifically hard core. I think the author Arthur C. Clarke is extremely talented with his writing and elaborately explains the facts that are presented in this novel. Right now, though it IS a science fiction book, it seems completely believable. I think this makes the book really interesting, especially because i have to constantly remind myself "Wo! It's talking about the future and none of this has ever happened." As for now in the novel I'm learning about Rama the meteorite that is growing at an alarming rate and is in the shape of a perfect cylinder. I'm interested into seeing what this completely un-natural meteor will end up turning out to be later in the novel.
